1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the AWEROK mobile application ("App"), or by accessing or reading content on the AWEROK blog at awerok.com ("Blog"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Blog.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use any AWEROK service (collectively, "Services").

2. About AWEROK

AWEROK is an independent aviation community project. The App and Blog are created and operated by AWEROK ("we," "us," or "our") and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) or any other aviation organization.

References to third-party aviation events and organizations are used for descriptive purposes only. All trademarks and event names remain the property of their respective owners.

3. Description of Services

3.1 Mobile App

The AWEROK app is a free, community-built tool designed to help aviation enthusiasts discover, browse, and plan attendance at major aviation events. Core features include:

  • Browsing and searching the event schedule
  • Saving events to a personal "My Events" list (account required)
  • Viewing venue locations on an interactive map
  • Reading the latest AWEROK blog content
  • Receiving optional notifications for saved events

3.2 Blog

The AWEROK blog at awerok.com publishes aviation stories, build logs, gear reviews, event coverage, and training content. Blog content is available to all visitors without an account.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

An account is required only to save events to your personal schedule. Browsing, searching, filtering, and viewing the map do not require an account. You may create an account using Google, Apple, or a passwordless email magic link, provided through our authentication service.

4.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account.

4.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or to the AWEROK community.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services or any related systems
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, servers, or networks connected to the Services
  • Harvest, collect, or store personal data about other users without their consent
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or extract content from the Services
  • Transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable

6. Event Schedule Data

6.1 Source and Accuracy

Event schedule data displayed in the App is sourced from publicly available third-party event schedule information and may be supplemented with community-contributed events. We make no guarantee that schedule data is complete, accurate, or up to date.

Always verify event times, locations, and details with official event organizer sources before making travel or attendance plans.

6.2 Changes and Cancellations

Aviation events are subject to change, cancellation, or rescheduling due to weather, airspace restrictions, or other factors outside our control. We are not responsible for any inconvenience or loss resulting from reliance on schedule data provided through the App.

7. Offline Functionality

The App is designed to work in low-connectivity environments. Schedule data, saved events, and map tiles are cached locally on your device. Cached data may be outdated if the device has not connected to the internet to sync recent updates. Use of offline data is at your own risk.

8. Blog Content

8.1 Editorial Independence

All blog content represents the personal views and experiences of the author(s) and does not constitute professional aviation, mechanical, legal, or financial advice. Content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

8.2 Accuracy

We strive to publish accurate and helpful content, but we make no warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of any blog post. Aviation is a technical and safety-critical field. Always consult a qualified aviation professional, certified mechanic, or the appropriate regulatory authority before acting on any information found in the Blog.

8.3 External Links

The Blog may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for any content on third-party sites.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 AWEROK Content

All content published by AWEROK, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is owned by or licensed to AWEROK and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from AWEROK content without our prior written permission.

9.2 Third-Party Trademarks

All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in the Services belong to their respective owners. Use of such marks does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by the trademark owner.

9.3 User Feedback

If you submit feedback, bug reports, or suggestions through the App or any other channel, you grant AWEROK a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and incorporate that feedback into the Services without obligation to you.

10. Sponsorship and Advertising

The App and Blog are supported by aviation brand sponsorship. Sponsor acknowledgments are clearly identified. Sponsored content does not influence editorial independence on the Blog. We do not sell user data to sponsors or advertisers.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at awerok.com/privacy and within the App. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AWEROK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

AWEROK DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
  • ANY INFORMATION OR DATA OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICES WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE
  • ANY DEFECTS IN THE SERVICES WILL BE CORRECTED

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AWEROK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES, EVEN IF AWEROK HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL AWEROK'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO AWEROK IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AWEROK and its owners, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

15. Modifications to the Services

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the App or Blog. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AWEROK with respect to the Services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.
